Application:

Soybean oil is a fatty oil extracted from the seeds of the leguminous plant Glycine soya Bentham. It is actually a mixture of glycerides of various fatty acids, mainly including linoleic acid, linolenic acid, oleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid, with trace amounts of other acids.

Soybean oil, as a medicinal excipient, is mainly used as an oily carrier for oral administration. It is widely used in oral liquid preparations and soft capsules, or as a solvent for topical preparations. It can dissolve oil soluble drugs such as hormones, volatile oils, free alkaloids, and many aromatic drugs.

Soybean oil is usually divided into crude oil and finished oil based on the different uses, processing techniques, and quality requirements of the product. Finished oil is further divided into pressed finished oil and extracted finished oil. Crude oil refers to untreated fats and oils (also known as crude oil) that cannot be directly used for human consumption and can only be used as raw materials for finished oil products. Finished oil refers to oil products that have been refined and processed to meet edible standards. Pressed refined oil refers to the refined oil processed from crude oil extracted by mechanical extrusion methods; Extracted finished oil refers to the finished oil processed from crude oil extracted by extraction methods using solvents that meet hygiene requirements. According to the national standard GB1535-2003, the pressed and extracted finished soybean oil is divided into four quality levels: first level, second level, third level, and fourth level. The quality standards are different from the soybean oil used as a medicinal excipient specified in the pharmacopoeia.
