Entacapone, with the trade name Comtan, is an anti-Parkinson's disease drug developed by Orion Pharma. It was first launched in the United States in 1999. Parkinson's disease (PD), also known as tremor paralysis, is a chronic disabling neurological disease that occurs mostly in the elderly. Entacapone is used as an adjuvant in levodopa/carbidopa therapy for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
