3- trifluoromethyl benzoic acid is a kind of chemical intermediate in medicine and pesticide, which has a very wide application in medicine and pesticide and other fields. At present, there are mainly the following preparation methods: 1) m-difluorotoluene as raw material, with 30% fuming sulfuric acid heating reflux hydrolysis, cooling into ice water, filtration product, yield: 66.1%. This preparation method has a low yield and produces a large amount of waste acid, which does not meet the requirements of green Chemicalbook production. 2) Taking m-trifluoromethyl benzyl chlori-de as raw material, chlorinated with chlorine gas under the action of initiator at 50-90℃, and then reflux hydrolyzed with 2.5-10% sodium hydroxide to neutralize and filter the product m-trifluoromethyl benzoic acid, with a total yield of 76.5-85.5% in two steps. The use of chlorine gas in this preparation method will be very limited in practical use, and it is a two-step reaction, the total rate is not very high.
