Also used in a novel synthetic approach to anti-HIV active integrase inhibitors. 5-bromo-2-metho-xypyridine is used as a ligand for the central nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. It is also used for novel synthesis methods of anti-HIV active integrase inhibitors. The structural unit of the β-alanine portion of the αVβ3 antagonist is also the unit for the synthesis of a potent selective auxin inhibitor-SST3 receptor antagonist.
