Wantioxetine hydrobromide is a novel diaryl thioalkylamine antidepressant developed by Takeda (Japan) and Ringbe (Denmark) for the treatment of depression and anxiety. Vortioxetine hydrobromide is a multimodal serotonergic agent, inhibits 5-HT1A, 5-HT1B, 5-HT3A, 5-HT7 receptor and SERT with Ki values of 15 nM, 33 nM, 3.7 nM, 19 nM and 1.6 nM, respectively.
