1-Bromo-2-chlorobenzene is a reagent in the preparation of arylpiperidines and aryltetrahydropyridines as 5-HT2C agonists..

Ortho-bromochlorobenzene is 2-bromochlorobenzene, it also has two isomers, namely m-bromochlorobenzene and p-bromochlorobenzene. The three compounds are all toxic and much stronger than the corresponding dichloride. It reacts with metal Mg in eth er to produce p-chlorophenyl magnesium bromide. Take o-chloroaniline as raw material, mix with concentrated hydrobromic acid, reduce the temperature to 0℃, and quickly add sodium nitrite aqueous solution under stirring to nitridize o-chloroaniline to form diazonium salt, which should be controlled during the reaction The temperature does not exceed 10°C.
