Uses: It is an intermediate for the synthesis of amantadine hydrochloride.
Production method: derived from the bromination of adamantane. In a dry enamel glass pot, add adamantane, drop bromine, slowly increase the temperature to about 70 ℃, reflux for 6 hours. With the formation of 1-bromoadamantane, the reflux temperature of the reactants gradually increased, and finally reached 100°C. After the reaction, the temperature was left overnight. Then the temperature was raised to 45°C, and sodium bisulfite solution was added dropwise to remove excess bromine. Filter, wash the filter cake with water to neutral, and dry to obtain 1-bromoadamantane.
