Acedoben (4-acetamidobenzoic acid) is a chemical compound with the molecular formula of C9H9NO3. It is the acetyl derivative of para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA).

Acedoben is a component of some pharmaceutical preparations including inosine pranobex.

Method 1: Take p-aminobenzoic acid as raw material and obtain it through acetylation. Dissolve p-aminobenzoic acid in ethyl acetate, add acetic anhydride with stirring, and raise the temperature to 70°C. Then it is cooled and filtered, washed twice with water, and then crystallized with ethanol to obtain the finished product.

Method 2: Using p-toluidine as raw material, it is obtained by acetylation and oxidation. Acetate is still used as raw material for acetylation, and potassium permanganate is used for oxidation, and the oxidation temperature is 60-70℃.
