Gadolinibrucol, a gadolinium-containing contrast agent for nuclear spin tomography, has been approved in Germany as Gadovist since 2000 for "contrast enhancement of cranial and spinal magnetic resonance tomography (MRT)". Gadolinibusol is a non-ionic complex composed of gadolinium (Ⅲ) and macrocyclic ligand 10-(2, 3-dihydroxy -1-(hydroxymethyl) propyl)-1, Chemicalbook4, 7, 10-tetraazocyclododecane-1, 4, 7-triacetic acid (Butrol). Gadolinium-containing contrast agents have become the most widely used MRI contrast agents in clinical use, and gadolinium-based contrast agents have been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for resonance imaging of the central nervous system. Gadolinibrucol is a kind of alcohols, which can be used as a contrast agent in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
