PQR530 is a potent dual pan PI3K/mTOR inhibitor undergoing phase II clinical trials in 2016. Aberrant activation of the PI3K/mTOR signaling pathway promotes the growth of malignant tumor cells. Study showed that PQR530 inhibited all PI3K isoforms and the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) complexes C1/2 potently and selectively against tumor progression.
