7-Metho-xy-6-[3-(4-morpholinyl)propoxy]-4(3H)-quinazolinone is an impurity of gefitinib. Gefitinib (ZD1839) is a potent, selective and orally active EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor with an IC50 of 33 nM. Gefitinib selectively inhibited the growth of egF-stimulated tumor cells (IC50 was 54 nM) and blocked autophosphorylation of EGFR in EGF-stimulated tumor cells. Gefitinib can also induce autophagy. Gefitinib has anti-tumor activity .
