1-BOC-4-piperidinic acid is a white solid compound that can be prepared from 4-picolinic acid by reacting with Boc anhydride. 4-pyolinic acid (1g,7.74mmol) was dissolved in NaOH solution (2M,10mL), and THF(10mL) solution dissolved BOC anhydride (2.53g,11.61mmol) was slowly added under ice bath conditions. The THF was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour, and then removed by rotoevaporation. The combined organic phase was dried with anhydrous Na2SO4 and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated with a rotoevaporation apparatus. After vacuum drying, a white solid compound of 1-BOc-4-peridinic acid (1.78g,7.76mmol, 100% yield) was obtained.
